Young horse and young trainer both expected to taste success
We were very excited to have agreed with Max Comley to train our horses for the 2026/2027 National Hunt season in the south. We met him earlier this year at his Wiltshire base and were really impressed with both the facilities and with Max. He very quickly grasped the kind of service we like to provide our shareholders and our ideas seemed to align very well.
We had a number of options that didn't quite fit the bill as we were trying to place our first horse with Max and it did take a little longer than we hoped. When it did happen we were absolutely thrilled to secure Rum Diamond.
We have a feeling that despite being a half-brother to Burdettt Road (2nd Champion Hurdle) and East India Dock (3rd Triumph Hurdle) this chap might have slipped under the radar at the Tattersalls Online Sale. Max had done his background checks and there wrre some early bids that perhaps suggested he would go beyond our budget. When we got the call from Max that our final bid had been successful, there was an enormous amount and relief, followed quickly by excitement.
A lightly raced half brother to two horses that have finished placed in Grade 1 Championship races. Going into training with a young trainer already making a name for himself in the training ranks. And the early reports from Max only served to ramp up the excitement, the trainer was clearly delighted with the new arrival. Shares are now available for the his 2026/2027 National Hunt season. season. He will start the campaign in Novice Hurdles and we are sure is going to provide shareholders with plenty of excitement.
