Novice Hurdler gets our winter season over jumps started with a good effort
Rum Diamond is one of four jumpers we have available for the 2026/7 season, and it was great to see the first of those getting some decent ground and being able to show he has ability. Although he finished second, he was only giving best to a horse with a recent good run under his belt.
Going off as the 17/2 joint-fourth favourite Rum Diamond wasn't too well fancied of the eight runners, but drew fourteen lengths clear of the rest of the field to be a clear second in this 2m 1f Novice Hurdle at Fontwell. Claimer Jamie Brace didn't punish the young horse, educating him on this first sight of hurdles, and he came home fit and well afterwards. The gelding will now contest another Novice Hurdle in September.
Meanwhile, we have EBCHESTER and CUILLIN RIDGE are all ready to kick on again after a couple of spins in the summer months. Now that the rain has come to most areas, Susam Corbett is readying our Northern team for a concerted raid around the Northern jumps tracks, starting later this month. Both our inmates at her stable in Otterburn are in good shape and we're anticipating plenty of action from both of them.
Finally, we have PRETTY MISS - the latest of our jumps purchases. She has joined Max Comely in Wiltshire and is being schooled at the moment. She is expected to get her entry for her jumps debut in the next month or so.
Shares for all four horses for their winter 2026/7 campaigns are available now! Here's the video (below) of Rum Diamond's opening run. It surely won;t be long before he's getting a win under his belt!
