Group 2 winner joins Ownaracehorse roster for 2018

ex-Coolmore owned Painted Cliffs now runs with the yellow star

Painted Cliffs

DATE POSTED: 5th January 2018

We are delighted to welcome a new racehorse in the South to our syndicates - but this isn't just any old racehorse!

Painted Cliffs was previously owned by the Coolmore operation over in Ireland and was previously trained by Aidan O'Brien. And just being trained by the leading trainer in Europe is not the only story behind this good-looking son on Canford Cliffs. As a two-year-old this colt won the Group 2 Railway Stakes over at the Curragh!

Seamus Durack and Tony McCoy were instrumental in making this 5YO available to our syndicates, and we jumped at the opportunity, once we had evaluated the form and spoken with various people about the horse. Seamus will be training the colt for its 2018 season and he was just as delighted with this acquisition, stating: "He's a very exciting horse. I have bought half a dozen horses from Tony which were ex-O'Brien trained, and I like all of them - but this chap is a bit special with the Group 2 race already won."

The story behind this chap is already explained in his profile, but the big question is whether he retains all the ability which he showed as a youngster. Currently rated 106, he will have to be contesting Conditions races as a minimum, and we could see him getting entries for some prestigious days racing. We are hoping that he will still have the best days ahead of him, and we can't wait to see what Seamus starts to report once the 5YO goes up the Lambourn gallops at full pace.

Shares in the colt start at £209 and there will be limited availablility in this horse.
