Kaaress comes with a withering run to snatch victory
Trainer Ollie Pears was delighted with Kaaress's winning run on only her fifth outing of the season for two reasons - the Malton based trainer's horses managed to fill the first two spots in this extended 9f Nursery Handicap for 2YO's.
Ollie stated afterwards, 'Harry Davies gave Kaaress a brilliant ride, switching her off at the back of the field and then producing her to get up on the line. I can't imagine the handicapper will punish her too much for that win and we can do the same again in a couple of weeks time. She's an honest, improving racehorse who could rise to anything next season.'
This season had seen this tough filly finish with a rattle on a number of occasions, but the win had been just out of reach - until Wolverhampton on September 2nd!
Jockey Harry Davies, fresh from losing his claim, jumped Kaaress out and settled her at the back where she hunted them up until turning into the straight. She was last over two out, but made relentless progress and coming between horses (a very positive skill in a 2YO!) she put her head in front in the last stride.
We can expect to see Golden Gal running in another handicap back at Wolverhampton in a weeks time. Shares in this lovely, game filly are sold out for 2023, however, her shares for 2024 are available now - View her shares
