Gilbert bounces back to form with a great win

Gilbert shows that he gets a mile and a half in style

Gilbert

Derby distance no problem for the 4YO

GILBERT, a 4YO gelding trained by the in-form Adam West, based in Epsom, has now won his fourth race of his career. He managed to squeeze through over a furlong out up the rail to secure a neck victory.

Following a couple of below par efforts at the start of the season Gilbert was treated to a great ride by seasoned pro Rab Havlin. Gilbert was always in the first four or five, but looked like he might get blocked over a furlong and a half out. However, once a small gap appeared, the gelding shot through and ran on well to win by a neck. This Cityscape gelding faced 12 rivals over a mile and a half on the good to firm grass and gave his shareholders a great day out. Ge also managed to score at generous odds of 22/1, having been 50/1 in the morning.

Adam West is aiming to find the gelding another opening in about a fortnight. Small shares in the youngster are SOLD OUT. However, we still have a few shares left in a couple of other syndicates with Adam West.
