Christmas Night delivers a sparkling Bank Holiday performance

Apprentice ben Robinson cruises home on the 3YO

Christmas Night

Ollie Pears delivers winner number two for shareholders this turf campaign

Christmas Night had already gone very close to winning at Wolverhampton on his seasonal debut but everything came together on his third run of the season on Bank Holiday Monday when he beat a field of 14 other runners.

The gelding got a great ride from apprentice Ben Robinson who managed to get a super position soon after the start by bouncing the 3YO out quickly and then slotting across to sit second. He was always travelling well and hit the front a full two furlongs from home but never looked like being caught, winning by two lengths.

Not surprisingly, shares in Christmas Night are completely sold out now. However, the race may not have gone the way it did if it wasn't for his trainer Ollie Pears. The gelding got spooked when behind the stalls and ran off without Ben. Ollie ran onto the track and retrieved him, jogged him back to the start and the rest is in the form book!

You can watch the replay of the race below - look out for the Ownaracehorse blue and yellow colours! Top apprentice Ben Robinson rides.
