FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wrap Up A Racehorse For The Person Who Has Everything

Dewsbury, United Kingdom - March 27th 2007 - Two years ago, friends Richard Laws and Peter McCafferty decided they would love to own a racehorse. Both held a great passion for horseracing, but looking at the costs involved it appeared this would be a pipe-dream.

However, armed with a knowledge of the internet, they decided that they would try to syndicate part of a racehorse online, to make it more affordable. So they started a small website - and what they found was an immediate group of people who wanted to get involved.

Realising that their service seemed popular, they got some small funding from an investor, approached many racehorse trainers and found a trainer willing to work with them. Six months later they launched the website Ownaracehorse.co.uk with two horses.

The goal of the site is to bring the dream of owning a share in a racehorse down to an affordable level, but also ensuring shareholders are still able to take advantage of the benefits and thrills of ownership. This includes visits to the yard, free owners badges when their horse runs, access to the latest information regarding their racehorse and of course a share of any winnings! This means providing a share for as little as £80 (a one-off payment for the season) and limiting the number of shareholders in each horse to keep the experience personal, especially when attending the racecourse.

Even if you are unable to get to the races, the website provides video replays of races, video of the horses working on the gallops and a plethora of entry, declaration and training news regarding each horse every week. The information can be accessed through the website, a dedicated telephone Helpdesk, via email, or through SMS updates.

Now, two and a half years later, ownaracehorse.co.uk has eighteen racehorses in training, both on the flat and over jumps, and has enjoyed 25 winners. There are 12,000 unique visitors to their website every month and they now have trainers in the South, Midlands and the North of England.

One of the key elements of the website is the ability to buy a share in a racehorse as a special gift. To help those people with little or no knowledge of horseracing to choose a horse as their gift, the website provides video of the horse, plus detailed, up to date information from the trainer. So you really can wrap up a racehorse for a loved one.

Richard and Peter still can't afford to own an entire racehorse themselves yet, but through the power of the internet they now have more than 1000 shareholders and a thriving and exciting business!
