One of the joys of racehorse
ownership is visiting the training establishments to see your horse in
its natural surroundings and get to meet your trainer, the lad or lass
who cares for your horse, and viewing the training facilities.
One such open morning, just for Ownaracehorse
shareholders happened on the Saturday of the August Bank Holiday weekend
in 2005.
About 35 Ownaracehorse shareholders were present at Tim Etherington's
yard in Norton, Malton, to see various horses, including the eight we
have at the stables. We were also lucky enough to see Fullandby,
the current stable star and see a few of the horses swimming in the
equine pool!

 |
For those share holders who couldn't make the
morning, we published a gallery of photographs of the day.
This also included video, available to be watched online!
Shareholders could also read an overview of what happened from
within their Horse Manager. |

Tim Etherington, leading round Soviet Legend as he
takes only his third swim in the equine pool.
Soviet Legend is a two-year-old, who Tim is busy training to use
swimming as an exercise.
Shareholders saw two horses swimming, and enjoyed a running
commentary from Tim and stable lass Karen. |

Stable lass Karen, holds onto First Rhapsody, as one
of our younger shareholders poses for the camera!
The open day saw a number of youngsters enjoying being around the
horses, and our youngest was only 5 months old!
First Rhapsody has been a star of the stable this season, winning
once and being placed on three occasions. Many of her
shareholders have won as much in prizemoney as their shareholding
cost!

One of our
two-year-olds, Laphonic, is pictured with an unnamed horse in the
paddocks.
Tim Etherington took our shareholders down to the paddocks to show
where the racehorses are allowed to roam and pick at grass for a
few hours every day. |

|
 |
To top the day off, Ownaracehorse two-year-old
Optical Seclusion ran at York in the afternoon, so our
shareholders in that horse enjoyed an afternoon at the races and
saw 'Opti' race for them.
The Ownaracehorse colours are the yellow and blue in the centre of
the shot. |
We run open days, and organise for smaller groups to visit their horses
and trainers on a regular basis, and will always attempt to give our
shareholders the best value for money.
