Stef Liddiard lands her first Group race

Trainer Stef Liddiard was completely taken aback by the
run of Mac Love, as the gelding bolted up in the first race of the Derby
meeting, the Group 3 Diomed Stakes.
Mickey Fenton, rider of all the Ownaracehorse horses with Stef gave the
gelding a superb ride to lift the £65,000 added prize for Mac Loves
connections.
We managed to catch Stef at the track, and she said "What a great ride a
great horse and an important day for the yard."
"I'm really as happy as I can get. This horse came to me as a failed
older horse and I've managed to turn him around and really get him
fizzing - and I'm astounded that he saw out this mile race as well as he
did. Mickey rode him to perfection and he's won well in the end." she
added.
"I just hope I can do the same for Ownaracehorse shareholders!" she
concluded, before being whisked away by connections of the horse.
This is a huge milestone for Stef, and we are absolutely delighted
for her and the staff who work so hard at Shefford. She's certainly a
trainer on the up, and we are privileged to be a part of her yard.
