Ownaracehorse has a cracking start to the flat season
................................................................................
April 2009
Its been a flying start to the flat season for
Ownaracehorse shareholders in our two flat horses which have so far made
it to the grass.
Both Sarah's Art and Siena Star have recorded wins on the turf - with
Sarah's Art adding a second placing to his win as well.
April is always a strange month, with the summer jumpers starting to
take over from the winter horses, and the flat not really getting into
full swing until the last two weeks of the month. However, the next
fortnight will see the return of some old favourites such as Namir,
Councellor and Shakespeare's Son to the track, pursuing wins on the
grass.
This year we also have plenty of interest around our new flat horses.
Billy One Punch is reported very well by Derek Shaw, and should be out
within the next three weeks, and Joss Saville has an interesting duo in
the shape of Tenjack King and Dream Rainbow. the latter will take a
little longer to get ready, but should be seeing a track in June.
Meanwhile Green Lagonda is set to race very soon - with the hope that
the grass will see him record his first win for us since joining us last
summer. He's been close on a couple of occasions on the All-Weather,
but the grass may just see him to better effect.
So far this year we have fielded 11 of our 16 Ownaracehorse horses so
far, and seven of them have won - two of them multiple times. Thats a
terrific strike rate of 20% winners to runners and over 50% first four
finishers to runners! A set of figures like this are unlikely to be
maintained over the long term, but its certainly been a tremendous start
to the year and to the flat season in particular.
