Notable Runs:
31st December -
Shakespeare's Son
- 3rd 12/1
In the same race as Grand Palace, 'Ollie' put in
another solid performance to finish a close up third in this five furlong
sprint.
31st December -
Grand Palace
- 2nd 9/2
Grand Palace is a consistent sort when he finds his form, and given a clearer
run through in the final furlong he would have gone close to winning this race,
in the end only going down by a length. He must surely go one better soon.
16 December -
Shakespeare's Son
- 3rd 4/1
Shakespeare's Son rounds off a day where all three runners made it to the frame.
Another race run in a very good time for the grade, Shakespeare's Son
demonstrated that he still has the ability. Could well get a short break
before coming back refreshed for a 2010 campaign.
16 December -
My Best Bet
- 3rd 10/1
An absolute give away at each way odds the impressive filly can count herself a
bit unlucky not to have landed maximum spoils here. Looks to stay this
extra furlong and there should be plenty of excitement to come with her in 2010.
16 December -
Grand Palace
- 2nd 11/2
A much better display from Grand Palace in a race run in a good time for the
grade. Found one just too good but battled well to hold on for second when
re-united with Adam Kirby - the last jockey to win on the horse.
12 December -
SARAH'S ART
-
WON 17/2
The brilliant grey strikes again for Ownaracehorse and Stef Liddiard. On
one of those rare occasions where everything falls into place for the horse he
scythed through the field to come from last to first along the straight at
Wolverhampton. His
FIFTH
win of the year.
21 November -
MY BEST BET
-
WON 15/2
On her first run for Ownaracehorse, her first try at 8f and her debut for Stef
Liddiard My Best Bet runs out an impressive winner of this Class 4 Handicap at
Lingfield. She looks a progressive filly who should be contesting some
decent handicaps in the coming months.
8 October -
FRIENDSHIP BAY
-
WON 7/1
Friendship Bay confirms his promise with an impressive win in another fair
looking 'Bumper'. Anything he has achieved in these races looks a bonus as his
future lies over longer trips and obstacles. A really promising effort in
softer ground and it all bodes well for his future. Well done to James and
Jane Evans.
3 October -
Shakespeare's Son
2nd 12/1
An agonisingly close shave for Shakespeare's Son who makes up a tremendous
amount of ground in the short straight at Wolverhampton - only to be denied by a
fast diminishing head. A great effort from Ollie and a win is surely just around
the corner.
1 October -
Namir
2nd 10/1
A real return to form for Namir who has had very little luck this season. Again
here denied a clear run when going forward once in the clear he showed that
retains plenty of zest and enthusiasm for the game.
21 August -
Friendship Bay
3rd 12/1
Our big gelding puts a slightly disappointing run behind him with this bold
effort at Market Rasen. He sets the pace in a reasonable looking bumper
and is not beaten far. He continues to look like a horse with a real
future.
15 August -
SARAH'S ART
-
WON 8/1
A plan executed to perfection by Jim Crowley, Stef Liddiard and Sarah's Art. The
Grey's Race at Newmarket had been his long term target and he won the race in
cosy style for his FOURTH win of the season. Trainer Stef Liddiard
thinks there may be more to come...
05 August -
Namir 2nd 6/1
Under a terrific ride from Graham Gibbons, Namir's luckless season continues
with another game effort ending in a narrow defeat. A win is surely just
around the corner for the gelding.
16 July -
Shakespeare's Son 2nd 4/1
A brave effort from the front as he was left in the lead when the expected front
runner fluffed the start. Held off all challengers except the well
supported Plumage.
6th July -
Shakespeare's Son 3rd 12/1
Shakespeare's Son looks to be coming back to
form and in a muddling race finishes with some purpose to get himself into the
prize money at Windsor.
22nd June -
Green Lagonda 3rd 9/2
Another close call for the grey as he goes down to a much higher rated horse and
another who subsequently won a handicap on his next run. Disappointment as
the horse is Claimed after the race.
14th June -
Friendship Bay 2nd 33/1
Much awaited debut of Friendship Bay and the big horse runs a cracker at
Stratford to only just go down in a National Hunt Flat Race.
30th May -
Namir 2nd 18/1
Namir bounces back to form with a superb run on ground possibly a little quick.
Denied a clear run he goes down by a fast diminishing quarter length in a race
just 0.19 seconds outside the 5f course record at Doncaster.
29th May -
Councellor 2nd 8/1
After being held in the stalls for around 10 minutes Councellor comes with
a cracking late surge but can't quite manage to reel in the winner who had been
loaded last. Compensation awaits for this tough gelding.
26th May -
Green Lagonda 2nd 14/1
The enigmatic Green Lagonda fails by just a head to overhaul the favourite
despite being 16lbs "wrong" at the weights. Surely a win awaits for this
quirky grey.
13th May -
Siena Star 3rd 4/1
Back again at Bath and in a very messy race Siena Star runs another really good
race to give his loyal supporters another trip ton the winners enclosure.
11th May -
Green Lagonda 3rd 16/1
Stef Liddiard maintains her remarkable high strike rate of wins and places with
the Ownaracehorse colours in 2009 with Green Lagonda staying on into third on
the sand at Wolverhampton.
6th May -
Siena Star 2nd 8/1
A really courageous performance from the popular Siena Star only to be just held
in the shadow of the past. Showing a great zest for racing despite his
advancing years.
30th April -
Petrus De Sormain 3rd 11/4
Another solid display from this really likeable gelding. Rarely runs a bad race
over hurdles and likely to be busy in the summer on firm going.
28th April -
Green Lagonda 3rd 10/1
A more promising effort from this quirky grey staying on in good fashion to
snatch third in this Claiming race at Nottingham.
13th April -
Sarah's Art
WON 7/2
Stef Liddiard does it again for Ownaracehorse
as Sarah's Art comes home by a neck in a competitive looking 6f Handicap at
Warwick confirming his Windsor turf effort was no flash in the pan.
9th April -
Siena Star
WON 9/2
Under a superb ride from Micky Fenton the switch to the unfamiliar tactic of
front running paid dividends as the grand old veteran Siena Star never looked
like being headed in this race.
6th April -
Sarah's Art 2nd 14/1
A cracking good effort from Sarah's Art on his switch to turf having already
registered two wins on the All Weather in 2009. Looked the only real
threat to all the way winner What Katie Did and maintained Stef Liddiard's
consistent start to 2009.
22nd March 2009 -
Petrus de Sormain WON 7/4
Petrus de Sormain took up the running over three fences out and never looked
like he would caught in this £6,000 added handicap hurdle at Huntingdon.
The gelding is in great shape at present, and won this as he liked and will now
race again fairly soon.
13th March 2009 - Green Lagonda 2nd 13/2
Green Lagonda did well to finish where he did in this handicap, after being
halted in his progress by other horses down the back straight. making up
ground from well off the pace he came through ten other runners to finish
second.
6th March 2009 -
Panama At Once WON 7/4
'Reece' gets his just desserts, lifting a £10,000 handicap for shareholders
with a modicum of ease back at Ayr. He is revelling in his racing at the
moment and there are surely more big races awaiting this super little chaser.
2nd March 2009 -
Petrus de Sormain 3rd 18/1
We didn't expect too much from Petrus today, but he ran a stormer to finish
third on his seasonal debut. He displayed a huge amount of promise and his
next run is eagerly anticipated.
24th February 2009 -
Grand Palace
3rd 7/2
'Tyson' only went down by a head and a nose in this Class
4 event, and he remains in great form - this was his first run in Class 4
company.
19th February 2009 -
Panama At Once 2nd 6/1
The gelding had this race in the bag at the last, but a mistake meant he
went down by only a neck - however a superb run and there is definitely more to
come from this horse.
13th February 2009 -
Desert Light 2nd 11/2
Desert Light finally came good after an in and out season on the All-Weather.
This wasn't a great race, but over a distance which is probably pretty sharp for
the gelding he ran on well to finish second, and an extra furlong would probably
have seen him winning.
12th February 2009 -
Grand Palace
WON 100/30
This was a career best effort from Grand Palace who was winning his third race
of the current campaign. He cruised into the lead over one out and
lengthened away to record a great victory in Class 5 company.
6th February 2009 -
Panama At Once 2nd 13/2
This little chaser put in a superb performance in a grade three chase at
Bangor to finish second to a very decent type rated 116. He drew clear
with the winner over three out, and just got a little tired in the very heavy
ground at the last. Her remains in good form.
5th February 2009 -
Grand Palace 3rd 14/1
After getting stuck in the kickback after a furlong, Grand Palace provided a
career best performance to come through into third place, only beaten just over
a length. He will run again very soon.
28th
January 2009 -
Panama At Once WON 25/1
With the fog as thick as you have ever seen it, and the commentator left to
make up his own race, its was something of a miracle that the race was run at
all, but tough gelding Panama At Once simple stuck in there and forged clear to
win this 3m Chase as he liked at very rewarding odds. Joss thinks there
are more good runs to come from 'Reece' in the next few months.
25th January 2009 -
Councellor 2nd 9/2
Councellor went down by only a short head today at Wolverhampton and maintains
his current good form. This was a 0-110 rated Class 2 handicap and meant
he won another £3,000+ for his shareholders.
21st
January 2009 -
Grand Palace WON 20/1
Following a disappointing effort at Southwell a fortnight ago, All-Weather
horse Grand Palace bounced back to form with a 20/1 win at Wolverhampton.
He was given a peach of a ride by Dane O'Neill to come late on the outside and
wear down his rivals.
16th
January 2009 -
Sarah's Art WON 7/4
Sarah's Art continues in great style, winning again at Wolverhampton.
He saw out this six furlong trip well and won with a bit in hand. He is
likely to be back out again quite quickly in order to make the most of his
current handicap mark.
9th
January 2009 - Sarah's Art WON 7/4
After being squeezed up in the first two furlongs and being in virtually
last position, Sarah's Art made great progress around the outside of the field
and swept past to win by half a length going away at Wolverhampton.
He will now go again in about a weeks time.
7th
January 2009 - Sarah's Art 3rd 13/2
Only going down by a neck and a short head, Sarah's Art was making progress
at the end of this handicap and it must surely be this talented greys turn to
win very soon. He goes again on Friday.
1st
January 2009 - Councellor WON 6/1
An £18,000 added handicap, won in brilliant style by 'Charlie'. He
built on his latest win at Wolverhampton with a wonderful start to the new year,
with a commanding win in a 0-105 handicap at Southwell. Taking it up from
over two furlongs out he stayed on well and never looked like being beaten,
ending up a decent one length winner in Class 2 company.
