|It's the time of the year when new horses for the Autumn and Winter season, as well as turf horses for next year start appearing on Ownaracehorse|
|DATE POSTED: 30/07/2012|
It may well be in the
heart of the summer turf and jumps seasons, but here at
Ownaracehorse we are busy making plans for the winter and the 2013
turf season. It's decision time of those horses which are set
to stay with us for another campaign, and those who will go - and
those which are yet to be purchased...
With the first of the Yearling sales set to take place at the end of August, its that time when shareholders and visitors to the Ownaracehorse website will start to see the transition between our 2012 horses and those set to be campaigned through 2013.
August is that time of the year when we have the least amount of horses available, as many have sold out for 2012, and we have yet to add the bulk of our 2013 racehorses. However, that is set to change in the next three to four weeks.
We will be adding in some new older horses for 2013, as well as announcing the welcome return of some favourites from this season. As ever, the decision on whether to keep horses in training is entirely based on their ability to provide competitive, regular racing for their shareholders - and above all, their likelihood of winning races.
Crumble - shares already available for her winter campaign
Already available for her winter campaign over hurdles, and then going Novice Chasing is Crumble, a lovely, big mare whom we have brought along carefully and patiently. We believe 2013 will be her breakthrough season, and her share period starts in about a months time.
Another horse which we expect to be returning for her three-year-old career is our flying filly Throwing Roses. Having never been out of the first three in four starts, she is a proven fun horse, and her opening win cannot be far away now. Her mother trained on as a three-year old and we are expecting the same from this 67 rated filly with a rosy future.
As well as the older horses, we expect to add in between three and five flat juveniles to our ranks for next season. We'll be attending the major Yearling sales over the coming months on the hunt for our new crop of 2YO's for 2013. You can become involved in these 2YO's from the very start if you wish - download our 2YO prospectus to find out more.
So expect to see some new names, some known names and some horses who have yet to be named hitting the site in the next four to eight weeks!
