    Shamrocked rocks up at Ripon

    DATE POSTED: 29/09/2013

To round off a successful weeks racing, we went to Ripon on Saturday with the Ollie Pears trained Shamrocked.  He won well by a length, with another couple back to the rest of the field...

It was a lovely sunny day for Ripon's last race meeting of the currently summer season on Saturday, and we got a performance from our racehorse Shamrocked to match the perfect racing conditions.

Shamrocked is a big, statuesque gelding who has been placed a few times this year for shareholders, but had failed to get his head in front - however Saturday was his day, and he managed to run out a decisive winner over six furlongs.

With over 30 shareholders at the track, all of whom got into the races at a discounted rate and into the parade ring as owners, it was a great day's racing.

Shamrocked is expected to be racing again quite soon, and may get an entry for next week, however, he is also available for his winter All-Weather season, which is about to start in four weeks time!

The gelding was raised only 2lbs for his win and now rated 62, he will be racing through the winter on the All-Weather.  Ollie Pears is particularly keen to try him at Southwell on the fibresand surface, which he believes will be perfect for the gelding.

Congratulations to his shareholders - all of whom will share the 2025 in net prizemoney Shamrocked earned for his victory!
