Panama At Once and Cherrycake expected to race on Newcastle's Gosforth Park on April 1st
    DATE POSTED: 25/03/2011
It looks like its going to be a busy week to mark the start of the 2011 turf season!  As well as having two flat horses expected to race at Musselburgh next Friday, on only the second day of the turf, we now have received confirmation that both Cherrycake and Panama at Once will head to Newcastle on the same day to contest National Hunt races.

North Yorkshire based trainer Philip Kirby has told us that he is going to take both Ownaracehorse charges to Newcastle next Friday, where Cherrycake will have her second race of her life over hurdles, and Panama At Once will be contesting a 3m 1f handicap on the track and over the distance where he's been successful twice before.

Panama At Once managed to pass four horses in the closing stages of his last race, over the marathon trip of 4 miles at Hexham and finish a decent third, and Philip is hoping the eleven-year-old can go two better next Friday.

Meanwhile, a hundred miles up the North coast, Musselburgh stage their opening flat meeting of the year on the same afternoon and George Foster will send both of our horses to that meeting, so we're expecting FOUR horses to race for shareholders in a single afternoon!  Sandwith and Bahamian Kid will be doing their best for shareholders on their seasonal debuts.

And the week will be doubly busy, as we hope Petrus De Sormain will run on Wednesday at Hereford, and Amical Risks is set to race at the Doncaster Lincoln meeting in a mile and a half handicap on Sunday 3rd.

A busy and exciting week ahead with potentially six horses taking to the track!
