Shareholders get the chance to see our pre-training yard at Gisburn, Lancashire, at work this Sunday.

    DATE POSTED: 24/08/2011

Gisburn Park Estate in Gisburn, Lancashire is the venue for a special yard visit open to all our shareholders this Sunday.

With over 15 horses in training at any one time for Ownaracehorse, we have to manage our horses wellbeing very carefully.  So when a horse needs a rest, recuperation or re-training, then we send them to our pre-training yard in Gisburn.

With six of our horses currently at the yard in Lancashire at the moment, we are delighted to be holding a special yard visit, which is open to all our shareholders with racehorses with us.

The yard is set in the rolling countryside beside the River Ribble, and there are up to fifty horses in the yard at any one time - with facilities for training, showjumping, eventing, jumps schooling and hill work, as well as the normal training requirements.  Run by Carol Richardson, we will be touring the yard and then watching some show jumps training and also a couple of the Ownaracehorse horses being schooled over hurdles and chase fences.

The yard has the contract to supply the pentathalon athletes at next years Olympic Games with their horses, so shareholders could well be meeting some of the equine stars of 2012!

This visit is an added bonus to the normal yard visits we organise to our trainers yards - and provided completely free.  We supply free refreshments on the day of the visit and being located between Clitheroe and Skipton provides an excellent chance for an interesting day out for our shareholders.
