|Village Green finishes 2nd in only the third race of his career|
|DATE POSTED: 23/01/2013|
Trainer Ollie Pears'
good form continued at Wolverhampton on Tuesday as Village Green,
our 4YO gelding, ran a much improved race to finish second at 33/1...
We only bought Village Green a month ago, but already this son of Green Desert has managed to land some prizemoney for his shareholders.
The 4YO has been a late developer, and this was only his third run of his life. Despite being very green and needing the experience, Village Green managed to kick on in the straight and chased the winner home.

Previously he had run just before Christmas, but after knocking his knee on the stalls, was very slowly away and finished nursing a lame leg. However, the gelding was over the 'dead leg' after only a few hours, and proved this week that he will be an interesting horse to follow through the rest of the All-Weather season and the turf as well.
Village Green managed to win over £800 just for his second placing, which means his shareholders are already picking up a few pounds each in prizemoney. Ollie Pears has his eye on another race in the next couple of weeks, and if the gelding has learnt from his experience, we should go even closer.
Shares are still available for Village Green's 2012 campaign, and at £89.00 (one-off with nothing else to pay) he represents incredible value for the season.
About ten shareholders were at the track yesterday, and were delighted with the run - and astonished by the geldings Tote return for a place. He paid over 25/1 for a place only.
