First yard visit of the year happens next Sunday - Ollie Pears

    DATE POSTED: 20/03/2011

Ollie Pears will be our first trainer of 2011 to throw open his doors and provide shareholders in Amical Risks, Storm Blue and Bachelor Knight with unprecedented access to his racing yard...

Sunday March 27th sees the first of our very popular yard visits take place.  The opening visit of the season is set to be at Ollie Pears' yard, based in Norton, Malton.

Ollie Pears has been training for three years now - but this is his first season training for Ownaracehorse.  We've had horses placed with Ollie so far - but we're still chasing that elusive first win - although we're pretty positive Ollie will be breaking into the winners very soon - as soon as the flat season starts in less than a fortnight.

Which is why it will be such an interesting visit - as Ollie has over 30 racehorses who are all getting ready for the start of the flat season.  He has a number of very interesting new additions to the yard for the 2011 grass season, as well as some very decent older horses which will no doubt be rattling in the winners for Ollie.  He has an impressive strike rate of around 14% with his flat horses, and as a result has been expanding his yard significantly in the last eighteen months.

He has already managed a couple of wins this year, despite only having a small number of horses running on the All-Weather, but April will see his numbers on the track increase rapidly as the opportunities to race on turf grow.

Sunday 27th will certainly be an interesting and informative morning at Ollie's - and all shareholders with horses with Ollie are welcome to attend.  If you would like to be there, then there are still shares left in Amical Risks - who will actually race at Doncaster's Lincoln meeting only five days after the visit!
