New recruit Astigos is old hand and will start his winter season at Lingfield in veterans race

Trainer Tommy Gretton was delighted to secure the Astigos, the winner of over 150,000 in prizemoney to date, at the sales in summer, and he's now ready to start his 2016-17 winter season...

Tommy Gretton confirmed from his Inkberrow (close to Stratford) base this week that our new chasing recruit Astigos is ready to start his new season.  Bought at the in-training sale in summer, this grand chaser has been building up since late July and will be entered to race on November 29th.

Astigos is ready to make his Ownaracehorse debut.

This gelding has really impressed since joining the team in the Midlands and we could not be happier with the gelding's fitness and enthusiasm he obviously holds for the job. Tommy has held back through the early part of November in order to get this gelding's preferred ground, and with the rain coming, Astigos is ready to race.

The race which Tommy has chosen for him is at Lingfield on Tuesday November 29th and is a veterans 2m 4f Chase.

We still have some shares left in this gelding, so if you fancy one, make sure you get involved before November 28th to ensure you enjoy his opening run of the season.  We have six jumpers in training for the current winter season and they have been incredibly popular - we have sold out of five of the six. Astigos is the last available jumper for the winter, with about 30 shares left at the time of writing - but we expect these to disappear fast as we get closer to his racing debut.
