|The turf season starts in less than two weeks time!|
|DATE POSTED: 18/03/2011|
It's been a long
wait, but the flat season is now only only a few days away from
starting. We have some exciting prospects for 2011...
The 2011 Flat season is less than ten days away now, and we are gearing up for what we believe could be one of our best seasons yet!
We believe we have one of the strongest teams of horses we have ever had going into a flat season, and not only that, virtually all of them will be ready to race as soon as the first race gets underway on April 1st.
In fact, we expect Sandwith to be our first flat horse out - and he could be racing on April 2nd at Musellburgh, only the second day of the season! Sandwith won for us last season, and also finished placed on numerous occasions, and we think he is on the sort of handicap mark where shareholders will be guaranteed more fun this year.
Also trained by George Foster is Bahamian Kid, who is reported to be going very well at home in East Lothian, and he is expected to make his debut in the Ownaracehorse blue and yellow only a week into the season.
Sarah's Art has won many times for his shareholders, and will once again be headed to the 'Grey's Race' at Newmarket in August, but he could be back out as early as the first week of April. He won a valuable race at Lingfield back in December, and he will surely be winning again for shareholders in 2011, having fired in two wins in 2010.
Stef Higgins also handles Councellor and My Best Bet - very decent grade horses on their day and both expected to be winning on the turf this season. These two have had a good long rest through the winter and we're hoping they will pay us back for the holiday with some decent runs in good company at the better grade tracks.
Then there is Amical Risks - trained in Yorkshire by Ollie Pears he is a standing dish in middle distance handicaps - and has already run a couple of times on the All-Weather in 2011. However, the grass is his best surface, and he will be racing on April 3rd at the Lincoln meeting at Doncaster - a wonderful day out for shareholders. Why not be there as an owner? His shares start at only £86.00.
We've purposefully laid out the bulk of our flat horses for the grass this year, so expect to see plenty of entries and declarations amongst our horses as soon as April starts and the turf kicks off.
