|Dad's Girl will head to Musselburgh to attempt to make it two wins in a week for our 2YO's|
|DATE POSTED: 17/08/2014|
Our promising young
2YO sprinter Dad's Girl will take to the turf once again next
Wednesday at Musselburgh. Following a great handicap debut win
for stablemate Studio Star last Friday, the filly will be attempting
to make it a 2YO double for Ownaracehorse shareholders in a matter
Scotland is the target for our very promising young sprint filly Dad's Girl on Wednesday 20th August. The filly is heading up to Musselburgh to compete in her third race of her career - in a 5f Maiden.
Dad's Girl finishes second at Beverley last time out
Dad's Girl was a very cheap purchase at the Tattersalls Yearling sales last year, but it goes to show that you can still get promising horses for little money - if you know what to look for, and trainer Ollie Pears certainly has that ability in spades, as he loved the way she walked around the ring. She has proved to be an extremely good buy for our shareholders - who have already enjoyed a placed run, and we are looking to go one better next Wednesday.
The filly will be contesting another five furlong Maiden, and with her filly and auction allowances, should be weighted to be competitive. Ollie looks set to declare her for Musselburgh on Monday, with only very firm ground being a reason for not being part of the line-up.
If Dad's Girl can break her Maiden on the third time of asking, it will mean that both our 2YO's in training this year will have won for their shareholders within five days of each other - which is no mean feat and will once again advertise Ollie Pears abilities as a trainer. All eyes will be on Musselburgh at around 2-10pm on Wednesday 20th. Not surprisingly, we are expecting a big turnout from her shareholders at the track.
Don't forget that our 2YO Prospectus for 2015 is now available, and we are already scouring the sales catalogues for our shareholders 2YO winners next season.
