|Panama looking to slog it out at Hexham today|
Perhaps our most followed and certainly
a real favourite with our shareholders, 'Reece' (his stable name)
is aiming to slog it out for his shareholders today at Hexham.
He's raced for us for five years, won plenty of prizemoney, and
given shareholders many heart-stopping moments.
Running over the Grand National distance of 4 Miles, Panama At Once will set off on this marathon trip on ground described as 'Heavy' by the clerk of the course and will try to wear down his eight rivals late this afternoon.
We have over 30 shareholders expecting to turn up today at Hexham to cheer this diminutive gelding on his way, and trainer Philip Kirby is hoping that his opening two runs have put this gelding just right for today's race.
This all happens at 4-15pm, when virtually all attention will be focussed on the exploits of Big Bucks at the Cheltenham Festival - however, our attention will definitely be fixed firmly on this super little chaser, as he attempts to win a third race of his career at Hexham.
One thing for certain, if 'Reece' is able to get home and make it into the winners enclosure, I can guarantee that there will be as much noise at Hexham as there will be this afternoon for any winner at Cheltenham, such is the fervour with which this chaser is supported by his shareholders!
However, like all great equine heroes aged eleven - we're just looking for him to be competitive and come back fit and well - anything else will be a bonus.
Panama At Once runs in the 4m Handicap Chase, off at 4-15pm at Hexham, ridden by James Reveley and is live on Attheraces, free to view on Sky channel 415.
