|Ownaracehorse purchases another yearling for next season|
|DATE POSTED: 16/10/2011|
Having spent all week
at the Tattersalls sales, we were delighted to eventually come away
with a very nice daughter of Indesatchel, late on Friday evening...
In line with our policy of renewing and improving our syndicate horses for 2012, the latest addition to our stable came in the shape of a very nicely put together filly from a mare with a black type pedigree, and with a half sister who has won twice at Listed level.
It was Friday evening - a full four days into the Tattersalls Yearling sales before we were able to secure the filly, having been under-bidder on a number of other other horses prior to this filly entering the ring.
We have been following a policy of only purchasing very 'correct' yearlings with a pedigree which strongly suggests a 2YO career and with black type performances within the first or second dam as a minimum. This filly is out of Prospering, a winning Prince Sabo mare with a half sister called Polly Perkins with winning black type and the mare boasts three winners from only six offspring of racing age.
Polly Perkins was by Pivotal and won the National Stakes and Dragon Stakes, both Listed races. What drew us to this filly is that each of the winning offspring have come from a mating with a sprint sire. Indesatchel was a top class 2YO over sprint distances and then developed into a very decent miler. What's more, both the sire and other offspring from the mare have run and proved to be above average as 2YO's.
We were surprised and delighted to have the filly knocked down to us - as we believe we managed to get plenty of value. Ollie Pears will train the filly and she will be in situ at Malton by this weekend.
Ollie said about the filly "She's got perfect confirmation, is a really good size and has 'Two-Year-Old' stamped all over her. Her half sister was a really good type who won a couple of listed races as a 2YO, her only season to race. I really like her and she's got everything about her to suggest that she will be an early type."
We expect the yearling will become available on the Ownaracehorse website on Monday 17th, and 10% proprietary shares will also be on sale through our sister website, www.theracehorsecompany.com
We will also be attending the Tattersalls and Doncaster horses in training sales, as well as the Doncaster November Yearling sale in the next fortnight, so look out for more new youngsters coming to the website very soon.
