Miss Starry Eyed only a fortnight away from her debut
    DATE: 16/05/2011
Miss Starry Eyed was seen breezing up Derek Shaw's gallop on Sunday by a large group of shareholders at our Spring yard visit, and she is set to be making her racing debut very soon...

Miss Starry Eyed has plenty going for her.  A full sister to a three-times 2YO winner, by an up and coming sire in the shape of Misu Bond, and she's currently going well at home.
This filly is currently on Derek Shaw's gallops each day, doing breezing work up the gallops out in the Leicestershire countryside

Known in the yard as 'Fleur' she will have a stalls training and two weeks further conditioning and finally some fast work prior to going to the races.

As with any young horse, you really can't predict what this filly will produce on the racecourse until she starts her serious home work and then actually goes racing.  However, she does have a particularly good trot and steady canter, which is indicative of a horse which is well balanced, and therefore able to stride out when asked to quicken - perhaps a natural athlete.

Her sire, Misu Bond has had a very keenly controlled book of mares in the last two years, and we count ourselves lucky to have such a nice filly to follow through the summer season.  Another Misu Bond offspring, Poppy Bond was the first of his 2010 (2YO) progeny to run this season and won well on debut at Redcar.

This week and next 'Fleur' will be doing her final preparations before going racing - and there is still time to grab a share in her before she starts her career.
