Panama at Once is Philip Kirby's first Ownaracehorse runner
    DATE: 17/02/2011
Our brand new jumps trainer, Philip Kirby sent out his first runner for Ownaracehorse earlier this month.  Panama At Once, previously with Joss Saville, went to Newcastle for his opening race of the season.

Philip has been a professional trainer for only three years, but has already made an impression on the trainers table.  Panama At Once needed the run and got a bit tired on the final circuit, but Philip was pleased to report that he is steaming up the gallops at home at the moment.  He will be back out before the end of February, be a strip fitter and will be an interesting horse to follow having been given a seven pounds reduction in his handicap mark for his opening run.

And congratulations are in order - as Philip recorded his first win of 2011 today when Antoella won a Juvenile handicap hurdle at Musselburgh at 7/1.  We believe he is a trainer to follow in the coming months.

We are really looking forward to seeing our unraced mare, Cherrycake, make her debut soon - she is making giant strides at Philips yard in North Yorkshire, and will hopefully make up into a decent Novice Chaser.
