|Risky is given a new target after finishing a good second at Wolverhampton on Monday|
|DATE POSTED: 12/05/2011|
Amical Risks, our seven-year-old
handicapper has been given a new target following his decent second
at Wolverhampton last time out.
Trainer Ollie Pears has ear-marked an Apprentice 1m 4f race at Haydock on May 20th as the next potential race for Risky.
Amical Risks ran at Haydock last season, when finishing a very close third in a replica of the race on the 20th. On that day he was ridden by seven pound claimer Eleanor MacGowan to challenge in the final furlong and only just failed to get up. We're hoping that this enigmatic gelding will go on to win this time around.
The almost universal firm ground has made race planning for many of our turf horses difficult in the extreme in the last four weeks, but with some rain expected to reach the United Kingdom later this week and into next, we're hoping that Risky will get the 'cut' he needs to be at his best.
Entries for this race will appear next Monday (16th) - click on the entry on our Home Page when it appears to view the details of the race. There are a few shares left in Risky for the 2011 season, starting at only £86.00.
