|Philip Kirby delighted with Galileo Figaro and we'll see him on a racecourse in June|
|DATE POSTED: 12/06/2011|
Some racehorses just love the firmer
ground, and Galileo Figaro, our seven-year-old summer jumper is
certainly one of those horses. An Australian import, he
thrives on good to firm ground, so is an interesting recruit for the
summer 2011 jumping season.
Having won on turf, he has now graduated to jumping. From three novice runs over hurdles, he improved every time and was third in his latest effort. Now Philip Kirby takes charge of the gelding, and we intend to send him over chase fences.
Philip took delivery of the gelding recently, and was delighted to report that he looked absolutely in the peak of physical shape, and he has already kicked on with him to place the finishing fast work into his preparation ahead of an opening run in the latter stages of June. From there, he will go on to contest chase races in the North and Midlands.
Philip told us this weekend "He's settled in nicely and I can't wait to get going with him - he's a horse I followed last season, and a good addition to the yard. He's also handicapped fairly, so we can either go the Novice Hurdle or Chasing routes - whatever suits and gives him the best chance of finding a win."
Look out for entries for Galileo Figaro from the 20th June onwards.
