|Sarah's Art ready to do battle on the July course|
|DATE POSTED: 11/08/2011|
Sarah's Art, trained by Stef Higgins will be holding their breath as
the clock ticks down to 2-45pm on Saturday 13th August. Known
as 'Jenson' in Stef Higgins' yard, the grey will attempt to win the
'Greys Race' for the second time...
With the declarations out for Saturday, 40+ shareholders will be descending on Newmarket's July course to see whether our flashy grey, Sarah's Art, can win the famous 'Greys Race' for the second time in his career.
Last season saw 'Jenson' winning elsewhere for shareholders, but he was unable to defend his crown as a result of the heavy ground in 2010. There's no such worries this season, as the race is expected to be run on a 'Good to Firm' surface, which should be perfect, as he won the title in 2009 in exactly the same conditions.
Another similarity to 2009 is that we have managed to secure the same rider who won on him two years ago. Jim Crowley really got a tune out of him last time, and we're hoping the two of them pick up where they left off.
With 20 runners going to post - the biggest field the course have ever had for the race - it won't be an easy heat to win, but regardless of the result it should be a wonderful day out for Jenson's shareholders. And you never know, our shareholders may be lifting the Grey's Race trophy once again by 3-00pm on Saturday - which will be covered live on Channel Four television.
