Stormy Morning returns to the track and only beaten just over a length
    DATE POSTED: 11/01/2014
After having a training setback last March, 8YO gelding Stormy Morning had his comeback run on Friday night (10th Jan) at Wolverhampton - and almost won!

Despite having been off the track for over 340 days, Stormy Morning, our smashing eight-year-old with Philip Kirby bounced back to finish 3rd at Wolverhampton on Friday night.

Stormy Morning, ridden by Eva Moscrop, ran over a mile and six furlongs on his seasonal debut, with shareholders well aware that the gelding was sure to need this first run back after a long absence from the track.  However, we were in for a shock, as the gelding rounded the bottom turn looking like he was going the best out of the field.

He made up plenty of ground and went into second place a furlong out, setting out to chase the leader down.  However, just in the last 50 yards he did eventually get a little tired and had to settle for third, being passed in the last stride for second.

However, we weren't worried about that at all - Stormy came home fit and healthy and that run will have put him spot on for his next run.  He has a share period which lasts from now and goes right through to the end of the flat season in November and we still have some shares left in this lovely horse.

Trainer Philip Kirby reported this morning that Stormy is fit and well and we will be looking for another race for this chap in the coming weeks.
