Our 2YO Faye Belle is all set to go to Lingfield next Tuesday
    DATE POSTED: 06/06/2013
Our 2YO with Derek Shaw hasn't had the best of luck with her racing so far this season, having bumped into one of the hottest races of the season so far on her debut, and then having to cope with heavy going on her next run...

You could be forgiven for believing that Faye Belle, our 2YO with Derek Shaw, was pretty moderate, given her finishing positions in her opening two races, but look a little deeper into her form, and her expected race next Tuesday makes interesting reading.

The Lucky Story filly is actually well regarded in the Shaw camp - as she has a very good cruising speed and a lovely action.  However, her first two encounters with track racing have seen her well beaten.

As is often the case with these juveniles, it can take two to three runs before the penny drops, but with 'Belle', there are also other factors at work.

Her opening run was at Windsor over six weeks ago, where she was beaten 9 lengths.  But examine that race a bit more closely and you find that a Listed winner, a listed placed, plus three subsequent winners have come out of that heat - in fact there is a good chance that the Queen Mary winner may come from that race.

Then on her second run she got to the course and the heavens opened in spectacular fashion - turning the ground very soft.  She showed up well for three furlongs before finding the testing conditions too much for her.

Now we move onto her third run - next Tuesday at Lingfield.  Conditions are looking good, and so is the competition.  Look out for her in the 6-00pm race!
