Its an exciting time
ahead for shareholders in Brunello, our 5YO with Philip Kirby in
Middleham. Having been placed in both his runs over hurdles,
this promising gelding is due to race in a handicap hurdle for the
first time on Monday...
You never quite know what handicap mark you will get for any
racehorse - but it was great to find out on Tuesday that our
promising young hurdler, Brunello, was allocated a mark of only 102.
||The gelding has yet to
be out of the prizemoney in his two starts to date over
fences and he is entered in a Novice Handicap Hurdle on
Monday up at Musselburgh.
Philip Kirby was hoping that 'Bruno' would get a mark of
about 105 - so 102 is something of a surprise - and
gives the 5YO a real chance to win a hurdle at only the
third time of asking.
Both races he has competed in have worked out well, with
the form standing up to close examination, and the only
query over next Monday's race is whether it will go
ahead, given the poor weather conditions in Scotland at
Brunello has a really great following
amongst our shareholders, and he is sure to be well supported at
Musselburgh, even if it is raining cats and dogs. One thing
for certain, if he runs a big race on Monday and is coming home in
the first few, he will be getting the biggest shout at the track!
Brunello is due to be declared on Sunday for Monday's race, and we
still have a small number of shares left in this lovely gelding.
However, we expect these will sell out this weekend, ahead of this
