Our enigmatic 6YO
Stormy Morning was running for the eighth time this year for his
shareholders yesterday at Musselburgh, and only just failed to win
for the second time
in as many months...
Stormy Morning has been a super horse for shareholders to follow
this season, and the six-year-old displayed a very pleasing turn of
foot on Monday 4th September at Musselburgh to finish second in a
£5,000 handicap over a mile and a half.
The gelding is trained by
Philip Kirby, close to Whitby in North Yorkshire and his
trainer took him up there yesterday.
"I thought we had it won to be honest." said Philip
after the race. "He's hit the front one out and taken a
length out of the field and if the race had finished one
stride earlier we would have won by a neck - as it was
we've been mugged on the line."
He added "But this chap has run a grand race for us, and
as far as he's concerned I reckon he thinks he's won it
Stormy Morning when winning
at Sedgefield in December
This was the gelding's first race
over a mile and a half for over a year, and now that he has shown
that he is more than capable of coping with the lesser distance,
Philip will be hunting out a similar opportunity for him very soon.
There were around a dozen shareholders at the track yesterday, who
had the thrill of following their horse into the winners enclosure -
and you could be doing the same this winter! Shares in Stormy
Morning are already available for his winter hurdling campaign and
we expect him to remain in good form through the autumn and winter,
as he's already managed a win and placing over jumps.
If you are looking for a deeper involvement, we have some 'Private
Service' shares in him also available - but they are showing plenty
of interest, so be quick, as they are strictly limited! Don't hesitate to call us or contact us
