|Big day out for Michael Smith and Ownaracehorse's jumping syndicates at Kelso this Sunday.|
|DATE POSTED: 03/12/2015|
We have already
recorded three winners and two placed runs from our jumpers this
winter - what will that tally stand at after Sunday?
We have some really great young jumpers in our National Hunt syndicates at the moment, and Sunday will see two of them travel to Kelso for some very interesting racing.
Applejack Lad - runs in his first Hurdle on Sunday.
We will be fielding two runners at the same meeting on Sunday - as Applejack Lad and Kilgefin Star both travel to Kelso.
Kilgefin Star, already a winner of a £10,000 added even at Kelso this season, heads back there to contest the highly valuable Novice Chase, worth a total of £25,000, whilst Applejack Lad runs for the first time over hurdles in the Novice race, which is the first race on the card.
Michael Smith has been targeting these races for both horses, and we are very hopeful that both will be competitive.
Michael told us today "Both horses are fit and well, and I expect to declare them for their respective races on Sunday. The weather looks like it could be unpredictable in the next few days, but as long as it's not bottomless, both will go."
"Kilgefin takes a step up in class, but he's an improving sort and I'm very excited about him. Meanwhile 'Jack' is a smashing youngster and has schooled well the last few weeks. He will need the experience, but can still get into things." he added.
Both horses have been available for syndication this season - but Kilgefin Star is now sold out - having won his £10,000 added race with ease! Shares still remain in Applejack Lad.
If you would like to cheer our horses on, be sure to watch the racing on Sunday at Kelso from 12-00 noon until 12-45pm, as both horses run in the first two races.
