|Arc Lighter performs well enough at home to get an entry for the £100,000 added William Hill Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster|
|DATE POSTED: 03/02/2014|
It's exciting times
at Ownaracehorse at present. With the new turf season only
eight weeks away, the latest news from Jeremy Gask's yard is that
our gelding Arc Lighter is all set to get an entry for Doncaster's
big Heritage Handicap, The William Hill Lincoln....
The excitement is building amongst shareholders in the five-year-old gelding Ark Lighter. This gelding is new to the Ownaracehorse ranks but has been doing so well at the Jeremy Gask's yard since Christmas that he has now garnered an entry into one of the biggest and most prestigious Heritage Handicaps of the season - the William Hill Lincoln.
The Lincoln handicap is the first really big mile race in the turf calendar. Run at Doncaster's Town Moor, the race is over a straight mile and attracts the very top class handicappers. The race offers over £100,000 worth of prize-money and Arc Lighter could be competing for a first prize of over £60,000.
Arc Lighter - gets Lincoln entry
It is rare for any horse of this stature to be syndicated, and even rarer for this sort of horse to be available in small percent shares. However, the excitement is growing in the syndicate ranks and we expect to have a huge following of shareholders at the track should the gelding make it into the declarations.
An entry of this type is never made lightly - as the entry fees alone are significantly costly. It shows that Jeremy has high hopes for this son of top US sire Street Cry.
If Arc Lighter does make it to Doncaster for their opening meeting of the season, he will represent our first ever run in a Heritage Handicap of this grade. Jeremy Gask has indicated that he feels the gelding is capable of holding his own in such esteemed company and we will look first entry in the Lincoln listings with interest in the coming weeks.
Where are still shares available in this building, however they are now selling out fast after this news was announced to shareholders over the weekend.
