|Busy time for the Ownaracehorse jumpers in January|
|DATE POSTED: 03/01/2017|
The jumps campaign
gets into the heart of the season now, and virtually all of our
National Hunt horses are due to be in action in January...
With the un-seasonally mild weather continuing, we have almost all of our jumping syndicates expected to be busy this month. You need to be able to cope with soft ground at the moment, and we have a decent group of horses who all act on such ground.
Astigos will be back out again, after his third placing before Christmas - he has a number of targets in the second week of the month. He is coming to hand nicely and we are expecting to see him getting competitive off his new handicap mark.
Astigos - a really great looking chaser who compete in Class 4 and above.
There are still a few shares left in Astigos for this season, now at their final, discounted price of £89.00. The shares will only be available for another week or so - see the shares.
We were delighted with the way our most expensive National Hunt purchase, Snow Rescue, got on in his comeback race in December, and now the youngster is set to race again - this time over hurdles. He is expected to race between the 11th and the 19th.
Then we have Little Jimmy, who will either run at the end of the month, or just into February. Meanwhile, our Cheltenham hope Nicely Indeed is also expected to race this month. He has been going well at home over hurdles and we had hoped to see him run in the second week of January, but he was under the weather with a slight cold last week, so trainer Kim Bailey is hopeful we will see him out in the last week of the month instead.
Northern Girl is another who will be having her debut. This youngster has been set the task of being ready for Wetherby in ten days time - which will be her racing debut. She will be racing in a NH Bumper to start her career.
