|'Stormy' and Harriet start 2013 with a great win for shareholders|
|DATE POSTED: 03/01/2013|
We were hopeful that
Stormy Morning was going to run well for shareholders on January
2nd, but in fact the seven-year-old, with the assistance of Amateur
rider Harriet Bethell, gave us the best New Year's Gift we could
have asked for...
A jockey booking can make all the difference to a horse's chances, but when it comes to Stormy Morning, he is just a different horse when he has Amateur rider, Harriet Bethell, on board!
Harriet, with a smile as wide as a Cheshire cat, came back into the winners enclosure after recording her second win on Stormy Morning within the last six months. In fact, her record on the gelding currently stands at: 4 rides - 2 wins, 1 second and 1 third placing! Stormy managed to win at 25/1 in August, and 10/1 yesterday at Wolverhampton, making Harriet a huge positive when it comes to her time spent with Stormy Morning.
We had a group of just under 20 shareholders at the racecourse yesterday, who welcomed both Stormy and Harriet back into the winners enclosure with undisguised pleasure.
Even though it was a cold and rainy day at Wolverhampton, there was nothing which could dampen the enthusiasm of shareholders, who were quick to thank trainer Philip Kirby as well - who has recently taken over the Kate Walton yard in Middleham. He's saddled three winners in as many days and is tipped to be one of the top trainers for the future.
Stormy Morning has been a wonderful addition to our syndicates since he joined us just over a year ago - rarely being out of the first four home over jumps or on the flat. He deserved his win yesterday, and Philip Kirby is now on the hunt for another flat race for the gelding following his New Year win.
