Racehorse Profile

Dyna Might (known in the yard as 'Dyna') was bought as a yearling at the Tattersalls sales.  She has a striking head on her - usually a sign that she will grow and fill out and make up into a filly befitting such a head - and indeed she did!  She is a very good looking daughter of sire Foxwedge and trainer Ollie Pears quickly found her to be the sort who will make up into a middle-distance horse.

She is a dark coloured, tall, scopey sort who has already proven to have the attributes to be a successful racehorse.  She scythed through the training ranks in 2017, winning twice and being placed a further three times and we are anticipating a start to her 4YO career once the turf season gets going in April or May.

Being by sire Foxwedge - a sire with proven sprinting abilities, but who also gets longer distance types, he has enjoyed considerable success with his offspring in the last two years. Dyna Might's Mother has had three offspring of racing age, and with Dyna Might, all three have won races.

Ollie was quickly convinced of this filly's staying ability, and although she ran her first few races over six and seven furlongs, we are quite aware that her future lies over much further.  The filly was always competitive until a race in late summer where she was reported by the jockey to have 'gurgled'.  She was subsequently given a soft palate firing, and ran again in October - ???

Ollie Pears comments about the filly "Dyna Might's mare has thrown two winners from two runners so far, and we are the third.  It will be interesting to see how she develops over this winter, as she is already a good size and is a proper staying type.  She is already a nice horse, but I believe she will fill out further and make up into a really powerful mare. "

Dyna Might will be racing as soon as the spring/summer turf season gets going in April/May 2018.  This share period will cover all her races up to the end of the turf season, so if she happens to start earlier than expected, we will start her share period early.

When at the yard, this filly shows the most forward tendencies.  When you enter her box, she is straight over to you, and aiming to leave the box with you afterwards!  She is an active type, but behaves very well at the races and travels well.  We expect her to stay in middle distance handicaps and be competitive in races up to 0-75 and 0-80 (Grade 4,5 and 6).  Ollie has also got a plan to try her at maximum trips of two miles at some point in 2018.

We will be reporting on the filly's progress for shareholders on an ad-hoc basis from the start of the year, and as soon as we have the early indications of the likely raceplans for the filly we will make shareholders aware.  Part of the thrill of owning a racehorse is the expectation of her opening run, but shareholders will be able to see her before her opening run of the season, as we will hold our spring yard visit to the stables in April or early May.

Dyna Might (3YO in 2017) Bay Filly (February 26th 2014)
By Foxwedge out of Dyna Bowl (Dynaformer(USA))

Foxwedge is an Australian sire, who stands for a fee of £7,000 in the UK and is set to shuttle between the two countries.  He was a top class sprinter at 2 and 3 years, winning three Group races, including the Group 1 Re
id Stakes in Australia over six furlongs.  His first yearlings raced as 2YO's in 2016 and enjoyed plenty of success, with a good winner to runs ratio.

This filly is the fourth foal from the mare Dyna Bowl - two of whom have raced, and both of them are winners. Both are from different sires, but showed enough as youngsters to get their head in front, and rated between 65 and 80 during their careers.  They were both best at around a mile to ten furlongs.  She also has an unraced Excellent Art filly called Dark Dynamic in training in the UK. The dam herself only ran a couple of times and finished midfield in decent enough Maiden races in France.  This filly is her first mating with a sire with an out and out sprinting pedigree.

Race Plans

The race plans for Dyna Might are quite straight-forward, as she will continue to race as she did in 2017 - around the Yorkshire, Northumberland and Scottish tracks as she heads for handicaps in the Class 4,5 and when she can, Class 6 grades.

Dyna Might will race in Autumn, possibly up until the middle of December 2017 on the All-Weather, then  be given a winter break of about three months, before returning to full training again in late January, starting her new 2018 campaign in April or May.  We hope to see her very competitive in mile and a half handicaps at first, and then contesting better class handicaps, possibly over a longer trip.

Your online Racehorse Manager will provide full details of all developments, in terms of race planning, as the season progresses.

Value Guarantee

We expect to get 3-6 runs and sometimes more from all our older horses per share period, however, you should expect periods of no racing as a result of recuperation from injury or training setbacks.   This share period starts April 1st 2018 and runs through the turf season until November 1st 2018, although we will be reporting on the mare before the share period starts, should we have anything of importance to share with shareholders.

During the season the horse may be rested or have time away from the track to recover and it is quite normal for a flat horse to have periods of 3-6 weeks rest between races. Young horses are particularly susceptible to sore shins, bone chips and growing pains, and can need a greater time to recover between races.

We provide the following guarantee:  Should this filly suffer a season ending injury which prevents her running AT LEAST TWICE during this share period, we will transfer shareholders to another, similar racehorse of our choosing, for the remainder of the season. To be clear, once your racehorse has run TWICE the guarantee is fulfilled.

We cannot pay prizemoney on any transfers, but all the other benefits of ownership will apply.  We expect demand for Owners Badges on racedays with this horse could be higher than normal. Whilst we have good relations with all the UK tracks, there are always limits to the number of people to whom we can provide badges. Owners Badges are always distributed fairly, but for any major handicap races the horse runs in, badges will be allocated on a ballot basis for this horse so that all shareholders have the same chance of receiving a free or discounted badge. You must expect that on some occasions we will be unable to provide free or discounted Owners Badges to every shareholder who wants them. However, we will always attempt to get access to the paddock for every shareholder at the meeting, even if they have not been allocated an owners badge.

As a shareholder you must understand that we cannot guarantee your horses performance, a specific volume of runs (beyond our minimum guarantee) or that runs will be evenly spaced throughout the share period.  This is the chance you take when owning any racehorse and participating in this ownership experience.  If you will be disappointed with only 2-3 runs from your racehorse during the season, then please DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THIS OR ANY OTHER RACEHORSE, as you could be disappointed.

We believe in being crystal clear with our shareholders - any participation in racehorse ownership is a risk, and we are unable to make any refunds because of share periods which finish early due to injury or retirement - as training and livery fees for the horse still remain whether they are racing or not.  This is the chance all shareholders take, as we do ourselves, when participating in the ownership of a racehorse.
